Frank's Cinnamon Rolls

Can you Bake on a smoker??

Absolutely! Of Course You Can!

I have baked cakes, brownies, cookies, pizzas, and now I'm going to do Cinnamon Rolls!

Cinnamon Rolls On Smoker

I have been working in my spare tme for the last little bit searching for what I consider the perfect cinnamon roll recipe. I think I have found them!

I recommend when you are looking to bake something in your smoker you give it a few trys in the oven first to figure it all out. I like this recipe the best because it calls for baking them at 325°F which is easy to do in your smoker.

So lets get to it!

Frank's Cinnamon Rolls

The Dough

  • 1- cup warm milk
  • 1- TBS instant dry yeast
  • 2- TBS white granulated sugar
  • 1- tsp salt
  • 3 TBS salted butter softened
  • 1- Large Egg
  • 3 cups all purpose flour

 

The Filling:

  • 1/2- cup salted butter
  • 1- Cup brown sugar
  • 2- TBS ground cinnamon

 

The Glaze:

  • 1-1/2- Cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4- Cup butter
  • 2- TBS milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

 

Heat the milk according to the instructions on the yeast package.
In a stand mixer combine warm milk, yeast, sugar, salt, butter, and eggs. Then add in flour using a dough hook and mixer set to low.
Once the starts to blend into the dough increase mixer speed to medium and add more flour a little at a time until the dough starts pulls away from the bowl.
Check the dough by using your finger to see if it is tacky or if it sticks to your finger. 
**Dough is ready when it has a tacky feeling but doesn’t stick to your finger.**
Put dough into a lightly greased bowl and cover with a towel and let rise until it is double in size. Approx 1 hour.
Lightly grease a baking sheet. Punch dough down and roll into a 12 by 18 rectangle shape.
Brush the dough with 1/2 cup of melted butter and then spread the filling on the dough.
Roll the dough tightly lengthwise so you have a long roll.
Cut dough roll into 1 inch thick slices.
Place slices onto baking sheet and let rise 30 to 45 minutes.
Pre-heat oven to 325 and bake rolls 14 to 18 minutes until kissed with brown color.
While the cinnamon rolls are baking mix up the glaze.
When cinnamon rolls are done baking let cool slightly then cover with the glaze.
