Frank's Verde Pork Recipe

Yep so one of my favorite things is some good old chilie verde. This is a “Frank Version” of this recipe from Herdez Salsa.

What ya need....

1- 10# pork butt
3- 16 oz bottles of Herdez Salsa Verde
1/2 Cup water
1 or 2 sweet onions chopped or diced
1/4 or 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
1- teaspoon cumin
1 or 2 teaspoons coarse black pepper
3 or 4 cloves garlic crushed
1 cup chicken broth

Cook the pork butt on the smoker.
In a bowl combine 3 bottles of the salsa, water, chopped onion, chopped cilantro, cumin, garlic, chicken broth, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
When pork is done pull like you would normally.
Separate the juice from the pork and dispose of the grease.
Mix pork juice into salsa mixture.
Place pork in a crock pot or iron Dutch oven. Pour the mixture over the pork and cook in crockpot for 1-2 hours or place Dutch oven back on smoker for a couple hours. If in Dutch oven leave uncovered.
You will need to stir once in a while.
